Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 2 c. plain flour (all-purpose)
  • dash of salt
  • 2 c. fruit cocktail and juice

Instructions

  1. Sift together sugar, flour, soda, and salt.
  2. Beat in eggs and fruit cocktail.
  3. Pour batter into a lightly greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
  4. Mix brown sugar and walnuts together.
  5. Sprinkle the brown sugar and walnut mixture over the batter.
  6. Bake at 325°F for 40 minutes.
  7. Ice the cake while hot.
