Ingredients

  • 16 oz. can lima beans
  • 16 oz. can chickpeas
  • 16 oz. can kidney beans
  • 16 oz. can string beans
  • 1 large onion
  • 3/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup oil

Instructions

  1. Drain the beans from their cans.
  2. Combine the white vinegar, sugar, and oil in a saucepan.
  3. Heat the mixture until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Cut up the large onion into desired pieces.
  5. Put the drained beans and chopped onion into a large bowl.
  6. Pour the heated liquid over the beans and onion.
  7. Cover the bowl.
  8. Refrigerate overnight before serving.
