Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 teaspoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup cold water

Instructions

  1. Put dry ingredients in a sifter and sift into an ungreased 10 x 7-inch pan.
  2. Make 3 holes in the dry mixture; in the first hole, pour in oil; in the second, pour in vinegar; in the third, pour in vanilla.
  3. Pour cold water over all the ingredients in the pan.
  4. Stir completely with a fork until well combined.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40 minutes.
