Ingredients

  • 15 oz. ready-made pie crust
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 5 cups apples peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • dash of nutmeg
  • 2 (1.2 oz.) toffee candy bars chopped
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pie crust according to the package directions for a filled 9-inch pie pan. Refrigerate the remaining crust for another use.
  2. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  3. Peel and thinly slice the apples.
  4. In a large bowl, combine apples, granulated sugar, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, cornstarch, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and a dash of nutmeg. Mix well.
  5. Chop one toffee candy bar and fold into the apple mixture.
  6. Roll out the pie crust and fit it into the 9-inch pie pan.
  7. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared crust.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining brown sugar, flour, chopped pecans, and the second chopped toffee candy bar over the filling.
  9. Cut 2 tablespoons of butter into small pieces and dot over the top of the filling.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  11. Allow the pie to cool slightly before serving.
