Sweet and buttery toffee treats with chocolate chips and nuts, perfect for satisfying dessert cravings and sharing at gatherings or as an indulgent snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soft butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 12 ounces chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Cream together butter and brown sugar; add egg yolk and vanilla.
  2. Mix well. Add sifted flour and salt.
  3. Knead into a dough.
  4. Pat dough onto the surface of a greased 17 x 24-inch cookie sheet.
  5. Bake at 375°F for 15 to 20 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of the baked layer.
  7. Put back in the oven for 1 to 2 minutes to melt the chocolate chips.
