  • 12 ounces chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

  2. Mix well. Add sifted flour and salt.
  3. Knead into a dough.
  4. Pat dough onto the surface of a greased 17 x 24-inch cookie sheet.

  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of the baked layer.

Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider using dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar. You can substitute half of the butter with coconut oil for a unique taste. If you don’t have nuts, try adding dried fruit or leaving them out entirely. For best results, ensure your butter is at room temperature to achieve a creamy texture when creaming with sugar. This recipe is similar to the beloved Better Than Sex Dessert in indulgence.

Serving Suggestions

These Toffee Treats make a delightful dessert on their own, but you can elevate the experience by serving them with vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. They also pair beautifully with coffee or a glass of milk. For a fun twist, consider serving them alongside People Puppy Chow for a mixed dessert platter that will impress guests.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftover Toffee Treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. If you prefer a softer texture, you can refrigerate them, but allow them to come to room temperature before serving. For reheating, place them in a preheated oven at 300°F for about 5 minutes to restore their original texture.
