Tomato Cheeseburger Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. lean ground chuck
  • 1 Tbsp. minced onion
  • 1/3 c. dried bread crumbs
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • dash of hot pepper sauce
  • 1/4 c. catsup
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 9-inch unbaked pie shell
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 1/4 c. grated Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Combine meat, onion, bread crumbs, pepper, hot pepper sauce, catsup, garlic salt, seasoned salt and egg; mix until blended. Spread meat mixture over bottom of pie shell.
  2. Bake at 425° for 25 minutes or until meat is done.
  3. Cut tomato in 1/2-inch slices; cut each slice in half crosswise.
  4. Arrange around edge of pie when pie is about 1/2 done.
  5. When pie is done, sprinkle tomatoes with grated cheese; return to oven until cheese melts.
  6. Cut into wedges to serve.
