Ingredients

  • 1 bunch celery
  • 1/2 bushel tomatoes
  • 2 lb. onions
  • 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. salt
  • 1 c. margarine
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. red pepper

Instructions

  1. Wash the vegetables.
  2. Cook tomatoes, onions, celery, parsley flakes, and red pepper; then run through a strainer.
  3. Add sugar, cornstarch, salt, and butter to the mixture.
  4. Pour into a kettle and bring to a boil.
  5. Boil for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours, stirring often.
  6. Put into clean sterilized jars.
