Ingredients

  • top round steak, in serving size pieces
  • 1/4 cup salad oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano leaves
  • 1/4 pound sliced mushrooms
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Place steaks in a shallow baking dish.
  2. Combine salad oil, chopped onion, white wine vinegar, salt, and oregano to make the marinade.
  3. Pour the marinade over the steaks.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for several hours, turning the meat occasionally.
  5. Melt a little butter or margarine in a skillet.
  6. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté until tender.
  7. Remove steaks from the marinade.
  8. Place steaks on a broiler pan and cook about 4 minutes per side, basting with marinade.
