Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 (3.4 oz.) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk

Instructions

  1. Combine water, butter, salt, and flour in a microwavable bowl and cook for about 1 minute or until the ingredients form a smooth ball when stirred.
  2. Let the mixture stand for 3 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, until smooth.
  3. Spread the batter into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
  4. Bake at 400° for 30 to 35 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  5. In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese, pudding mix, and cold milk until smooth.
  6. Spread the pudding mixture over the cooled pastry base.
  7. Refrigerate for 20 minutes or until set.
  8. Spread with Cool Whip and refrigerate until set.
  9. Just before serving, drizzle with chocolate syrup.
