A cheesy, layered tortilla stack featuring green onions and chilies, perfect for sharing at gatherings or as a flavorful appetizer with salsa and sour cream.

Ingredients

  • 10 (8-inch) tortillas
  • 3 cups shredded Jack cheese
  • 3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/4 cups sliced green onions
  • 1 cup chopped green chilies (two 4-oz. cans), drained
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter
  • garden salsa
  • sour cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Butter 2 (8-inch) round cake pans. Place 1 tortilla in each pan.
  3. Combine shredded Jack and Cheddar cheeses.
  4. Sprinkle 2/3 cup of cheese over each tortilla.
  5. Top with a generous tablespoon of green onions and drained green chilies.
  6. Repeat layering until there are 4 layers in each pan, then top with a fifth tortilla.
  7. Bake stacks uncovered for 20 minutes or until tops are lightly browned.
  8. Let cool for 5 minutes.
  9. Invert a serving platter over each pan.
  10. Carefully flip and turn the stack onto the platter.
  11. Repeat with the second pan.
  12. Cut each stack into wedges and garnish with garden salsa and sour cream if desired.
