Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 4 ounces chopped green chilies
  • 12 small flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Brown turkey, chopped onion, and green chilies in 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening.
  2. Add chicken broth and cornstarch to the browned mixture and cook until thickened.
  3. Place a heaping tablespoon of the mixture onto a flour tortilla.
  4. Roll up the tortilla and secure with a toothpick.
  5. Repeat with remaining tortillas and filling.
  6. Deep fry the rolled tortillas until golden brown.
  7. Serve with picante sauce and sour cream.
