Turkey Ham Bake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 5 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1 (3 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
  • 1 c. light cream
  • 2 Tbsp. apple juice
  • 2 c. cooked turkey
  • 1 c. cooked ham
  • 1 (5 oz.) can water chestnuts, sliced
  • 1/2 c. shredded cheese (Cheddar or Swiss)
  • 1 1/2 c. bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Cook onion until tender in 2 tablespoons butter.
  2. Blend in flour and pepper.
  3. Add undrained mushrooms and apple juice. Cook, stirring, until thickened.
  4. Add turkey, ham and water chestnuts.
  5. Pour into greased casserole.
  6. Top with cheese.
  7. Melt remaining butter, and mix with bread crumbs.
  8. Sprinkle over cheese.
  9. Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 400°.
