Ingredients

  • 1/2 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 1/4 cups boiling water
  • 3 1/2 cups seasoned stuffing crumbs
  • 1 (2.8 oz.) can Durkee French fried onions
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of celery soup
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups cubed, cooked turkey
  • 1 (10 oz.) package frozen peas, thawed

Instructions

  1. Wash thawed turkey with warm water inside and out.
  2. Tie wings and legs tight to the body.
  3. Rub skin of turkey with margarine.
  4. Shake 1 tablespoon flour in a Reynolds oven bag (turkey size).
  5. Insert turkey into the bag and tie the end, leaving a hole in the end of the bag to prevent bursting.
  6. Place turkey with the bag breast side down in a microwave dish.
  7. Microwave approximately 4 to 5 minutes per pound on High.
  8. Divide the total microwave time into quarters, turning the bird every quarter of the time.
  9. Turn the bird 270° each time to let the juice run over the turkey, ending with breast up.
  10. Use oven gloves when handling the hot bag and turkey.
  11. Make sure the hole at the end of the bag stays open during cooking.
  12. Remove the turkey when cooking time is over; let it cool and then carve.
  13. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  14. Prepare stuffing by combining seasoned crumbs with boiling water, cream of celery soup, milk, and cooked turkey.
  15. Mix in thawed peas and half of the fried onions into the stuffing mixture.
  16. Transfer the stuffing mixture into a baking dish.
  17. Bake uncovered for about 30 minutes until heated through and slightly browned.
  18. Top with remaining fried onions before serving.
