Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups uncooked oats
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup butter or oleo
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/3 cup coarsely chopped pecans
  • 1 (12 1/4 oz.) jar caramel ice cream topping

Instructions

  1. Combine 1 1/2 cups flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add butter, mixing until crumbly.
  3. Reserve 3/4 cup of the mixture for topping.
  4. Press the remaining mixture into the bottom of a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  5. Bake at 375°F for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped pecans over the warm crust.
  7. Pour caramel ice cream topping evenly over the chocolate and pecans.
  8. Sprinkle the reserved crumb mixture over the top.
  9. Bake again at 375°F for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  10. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
