  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1 Tbsp dry mustard
  • 1 Tbsp poppy seed
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 8 slices crumbled bacon

Instructions

  3. Place crumbled bacon in between slices of bread, also.
  4. Wrap the assembled bread tightly in foil.
  5. Bake at 300°F for 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Tips & Substitutions

For a richer flavor, consider using a blend of Swiss cheese and Gruyère. If you're short on time, pre-cooked bacon can be used instead of crumbling raw bacon. You can also substitute the dry mustard with Dijon mustard for a milder taste. Experiment by adding herbs like dill or chives for an extra layer of flavor.

Serving Suggestions

Tutti Bread is perfect as a hearty appetizer or a side dish. Serve it alongside a fresh salad like Karen'S Broccoli Salad(Makes A Great Side Salad) or pair it with a warm bowl of soup for a comforting meal. It also complements well with drinks, making it a great addition to gatherings.

Storage & Reheating

Leftover Tutti Bread can be wrapped tightly in aluminum foil and stored in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat, place the wrapped bread in an oven preheated to 300°F for about 15 minutes, or until heated through, ensuring the cheese melts and the bread stays soft.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I prepare Tutti Bread in advance?

Yes, you can assemble the Tutti Bread a day ahead of time. Just wrap it tightly in foil and refrigerate. When you're ready to bake it, simply preheat the oven and follow the baking instructions. This makes it a convenient option for parties or quick dinners.

What can I substitute for Swiss cheese?

If you don't have Swiss cheese, you can use Gruyère for a similar nutty flavor or even cheddar for a sharper taste. Provolone or mozzarella are also great alternatives if you prefer a milder cheese that melts well.

Can I add vegetables to the recipe?

Absolutely! Sautéed bell peppers or mushrooms can be added between the layers for additional flavor and texture. Spinach or artichoke hearts would also pair nicely. Just make sure to drain any excess moisture to avoid sogginess.
