A vibrant, tangy relish combining crunchy cabbage and sweet peppers, seasoned with mustard seeds and vinegar; perfect for adding zest to sandwiches, burgers, or as a condiment.

Ingredients

  • 1 qt. chopped cabbage
  • 1 pt. chopped sweet red peppers
  • 1 pt. chopped sweet green peppers
  • 4 Tbsp. mustard seeds
  • 1 1/2 pt. vinegar
  • 4 c. sugar
  • 1 pt. chopped onions
  • 2 tsp. celery seed
  • 5 Tbsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a large bowl.
  2. Let stand overnight to develop flavors.
  3. Pack the relish cold into warm jars.
  4. Seal the jars for preservation.
