A flavorful vegetable burger featuring sautéed onions and green peppers combined with cottage cheese and cheddar, perfect for a quick, vegetarian-friendly meal with crispy, golden-brown patties.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp margarine
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 2/3 cup cottage cheese
  • 6 tbsp bread crumbs
  • 1 oz shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sauté diced onion and green bell pepper in margarine until tender.
  3. Mix sautéed vegetables with cottage cheese, bread crumbs, shredded Cheddar cheese, egg, salt, and pepper.
  4. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form into balls.
  5. Place on a nonstick baking sheet and flatten each ball into a patty.
  6. Bake until golden brown and puffy, about 15 minutes.
  7. Turn the patties over and bake for an additional 3 to 5 minutes until evenly cooked and crispy.
