Ingredients

  • 4 lb. venison roast or venison, cut into stew-sized pieces
  • 1 can beef broth
  • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 8 slices bacon
  • diced potatoes
  • diced carrots

Instructions

  1. Fry the bacon slices until crispy and set aside.
  2. Saute the chopped onion in the bacon drippings until translucent.
  3. Dredge the venison pieces in flour and brown them in the bacon drippings.
  4. Place the browned venison, bacon, Worcestershire sauce, sautéed onion, and cream of mushroom soup into the crock-pot.
  5. Add water to reach a gravy consistency.
  6. Cook on low for 10 hours.
  7. Add diced potatoes and carrots in the last hour and continue cooking until tender.
