Ingredients

  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1 1/2 cups Wesson oil
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 cups apples, grated or sliced or 20 oz can sliced unsweetened apples

Instructions

  1. Mix by hand.
  2. Cream oil and sugar together.
  3. Add vanilla and eggs to the mixture.
  4. Add dry ingredients: flour, salt, soda, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  5. Add grated or sliced apples and pecans last.
  6. Grease and flour a tube pan.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour.
  9. Cool completely in the pan before removing.
