Ingredients

  • 1 pkg dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup warm water (110 to 115°F)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 tablespoons butter or oleo, melted and cooled
  • 3 1/4 to 3 3/4 cups flour

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. Add eggs, salt, sugar, melted and cooled butter, and 2 cups of flour. Beat until smooth.
  3. Add enough remaining flour to make a soft dough.
  4. Turn the dough onto a floured board and knead until smooth and elastic, about 6 to 8 minutes.
  5. Put the dough in a greased bowl and turn once to grease the top.
  6. Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
  7. On a lightly floured board, roll out the dough to fit a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  8. Place the dough in the prepared pan.
  9. Using a sharp knife, cut the dough into 12 squares.
  10. Cover and let rise until doubled in size again.
  11. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
