Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 can cream or Carnation milk
  • 3 tsp. cornmeal
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. flour
  • 2 tsp. vanilla flavor
  • 3 egg yolks
  • pecans or 1 oz. walnuts

Instructions

  1. Mix dry ingredients together (cornmeal, sugar, salt, and flour).
  2. Beat 3 egg yolks, then stir in vanilla flavor, cream, and butter. Beat on 3rd speed.
  3. Combine all ingredients together and pour into a prepared pie shell.
  4. Pre-bake the pie shell for 9 minutes at 400°F.
  5. Add nuts on top of the mixture in the pie shell.
  6. Bake the pie at 425°F for 40 minutes until set and golden.
