Ingredients

  • 2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Sift the flour and sift again.
  2. Add salt to the flour.
  3. Cream shortening, powdered sugar, and vanilla together.
  4. Mix with an electric mixer and add the flour and chopped nuts.
  5. Mix well and form into balls.
  6. Place the balls on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and roll the cookies in powdered sugar.
