Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup salad oil
  • 1/2 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 teaspoons MSG or Accent
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 4 grated carrots
  • 1/4 cup sesame seed
  • 1 cup slivered almonds
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 packages Ramen noodles, broken

Instructions

  1. One hour prior to serving, mix chopped cabbage, green onions, and grated carrots in a large bowl.
  2. Saute sesame seeds and slivered almonds in butter until golden brown, then add to the vegetables.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together salad oil, rice vinegar, sugar, pepper, MSG or Accent, and salt to make the dressing.
  4. Pour the dressing over the vegetable mixture and toss to combine.
  5. Immediately before serving, add broken ramen noodles to the salad and toss briefly.
