Ingredients

  • 4 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup shredded white Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup plus 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 unbaked pie shell

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, toss together the peeled and sliced apples, shredded white Cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup plus 3 tablespoons brown sugar, all-purpose flour, and allspice.
  2. Pour the mixture into the unbaked pie shell.
  3. Sprinkle the top of the pie with 3 tablespoons of brown sugar and slivered almonds.
  4. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45 to 50 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  5. Cool before serving.
