Ingredients

  • 1 package yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 beaten eggs
  • 1 quart plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Put yeast in warm milk and let it activate.
  2. Cream together butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add beaten eggs to the creamed mixture.
  4. Mix the flour with salt and gradually add to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk and yeast mixture.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 2 hours, then beat it well.
  6. Pour the dough into a well-buttered tube cake pan.
  7. Let the dough rise again for 1 hour.
  8. Bake in a moderate oven at 250° to 300°F for 45 minutes.
