Yammies are rich, gooey dessert bars with chocolate, caramel, and nuts, perfect for satisfying sweet cravings and ideal for gatherings or family treats.

Ingredients

  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 (14 oz.) package Kraft caramels
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Melt butter and pour over cake mix; add 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Pour half of the cake mixture into a 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350°F for 8 minutes.
  2. While baking, melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over the hot baked cake, then pour melted caramel over that.
  3. Spread the remaining half of the cake mixture over the caramel layer.
  4. Bake at 350°F for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until golden and set.
