Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 8 eggs
  • 4 cups sifted plain flour

  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 275°F (135°C) for 40 minutes.
  9. Then increase oven temperature to 300°F (150°C) and bake for an additional 50 to 60 minutes until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
