Ingredients

  • 1 large bunch romaine lettuce
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large carrot
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1/3 medium red onion
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 package ramen noodles
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 cup slivered almonds
  • 6 slices uncooked bacon

Instructions

  1. Combine lettuce, carrot, and onion in a large salad bowl.
  2. Cook bacon slices until crispy and set aside. Save bacon grease for later.
  3. Crumble bacon into small bits.
  4. Mix ramen noodles and almonds on a cookie sheet. Lightly coat the noodle/almond mixture with bacon grease.
  5. Brown the mixture in a toaster oven or conventional oven.
  6. Make dressing by combining vegetable oil, vinegar, sugar, and soy sauce in a saucepan.
  7. Simmer the sauce until the sugar is dissolved.
  8. Set aside to cool.
  9. Add bacon bits, toasted ramen noodles, and almonds to the salad in the bowl.
  10. Mix the salad and serve with dressing kept separate until serving.
