Ingredients

  • 1 medium head iceberg lettuce
  • 1/2 cup green onions
  • 1 cup celery
  • 1 (8 oz) can water chestnuts
  • 1 (10 oz) package frozen petite peas
  • 2 cups mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 3 or 4 hard-cooked eggs
  • 1/2 to 3/4 pound sliced bacon
  • 2 medium tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Shred the iceberg lettuce and place it in a shallow serving dish (about 4 quart size).
  2. Top the lettuce with sliced green onions, sliced celery, and sliced water chestnuts.
  3. Open the can of peas and break them apart.
  4. Sprinkle the peas evenly over the salad.
  5. Spread mayonnaise evenly over the top of the salad.
  6. Sprinkle the salad with sugar, grated Parmesan cheese, seasoned salt, and garlic salt.
  7. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before serving.
  8. Just before serving, add crumbled crispy fried bacon and tomato wedges on top.
