Ingredients

  • 2 sticks oleo or butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon rum extract
  • 1 teaspoon coconut extract
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon butter extract

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening, oleo, and sugar together.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Sift flour, salt, and baking powder together.
  4. Add the dry ingredients alternately with milk to the creamed mixture.
  5. Add rum, coconut, and butter extracts to the batter.
  6. Pour into prepared baking pan and bake at 350°F for 1 1/2 hours.
  7. Apply glaze after baking.
