Tips & Substitutions

For added flavor, consider using smoked paprika instead of regular pepper. You can substitute ground beef with shredded chicken or a plant-based alternative for a different twist. If you want extra heat, add some chopped jalapeños or a dash of cayenne pepper. For a quick side, serve with Southwestern Rice With Beef for a complete meal.

Serving Suggestions

Serve these burritos with a side of fresh salsa or guacamole for an extra flavor boost. They pair wonderfully with Layered Tortillas or a simple green salad to balance out the meal. For a hearty feast, consider adding some Baked Nachos as a side dish, making it a festive occasion.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftover burritos in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, wrap the burrito in a damp paper towel and microwave for 1-2 minutes, or until heated through. Alternatively, place in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes for a crispy exterior.

Can I freeze these burritos?

Yes, you can freeze the burritos! Wrap each one tightly in plastic wrap and then place them in a freezer-safe bag. They will keep well for up to 2 months. To reheat, thaw in the refrigerator overnight and then reheat in the microwave or oven.

What can I use instead of flour tortillas?

If you're looking for a gluten-free option, corn tortillas are a great alternative. You can also use lettuce leaves for a low-carb version. If you prefer a heartier wrap, consider whole wheat tortillas for added fiber and nutrition.
