  1. Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.
  2. In a 12-inch skillet over medium heat, melt margarine and butter, then cook the apple slices until tender and crisp, about ten minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Set aside the cooked apples.
  4. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Line a pie pan with unbaked pie crust.
  6. In a small bowl, mix flour, ground cinnamon, salt, and 2/3 cup sugar.
  7. Toss the mixture with the apple slices to coat evenly.
  8. Spoon the apple filling into the pie crust, mounding slightly in the center.
  9. Place the top crust over the filling.
  10. Brush the crust with some milk.
  11. Sprinkle one teaspoon of sugar over the crust.
  12. Bake the pie for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
