- Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.
- In a 12-inch skillet over medium heat, melt margarine and butter, then cook the apple slices until tender and crisp, about ten minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Set aside the cooked apples.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a pie pan with unbaked pie crust.
- In a small bowl, mix flour, ground cinnamon, salt, and 2/3 cup sugar.
- Toss the mixture with the apple slices to coat evenly.
- Spoon the apple filling into the pie crust, mounding slightly in the center.
- Place the top crust over the filling.
- Brush the crust with some milk.
- Sprinkle one teaspoon of sugar over the crust.
- Bake the pie for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
