Ingredients

  • 8 large apples
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and thickly slice the apples.
  2. Grease a 10-inch baking dish or pan.
  3. Pat the sliced apples into the prepared dish.
  4. Pour the light corn syrup over the apples.
  5. Mix brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, oatmeal, chopped walnuts, and butter or margarine to make a crumb topping.
  6. Spread the crumb topping evenly over the apples.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour.
  8. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt.
