Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/2 cups chopped apples
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Blend together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted margarine, and beaten egg.
  2. Add the chopped apples, whole wheat flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and chopped walnuts to the mixture and combine well.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 9-inch pan.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 30 minutes.
