Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Pillsbury Plus butter pecan cake mix
  • 1 1/4 cups quick rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup softened margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 21 oz. can fruit filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  3. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, 1 cup of oats, shredded Cheddar cheese, and 6 tablespoons of margarine at low speed until crumbly.
  4. Reserve 1 cup of crumbs for topping.
  5. To the remaining crumbs, add the egg and blend well.
  6. Press the mixture into the prepared pan to form the crust.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven, spread fruit filling evenly over the crust.
  9. Sprinkle the reserved crumbs, chopped nuts, coconut, and brown sugar over the filling.
  10. Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  11. Allow to cool before serving.
