Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of oregano
  • pinch of marjoram
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 (1 lb.) can stewed tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Melt margarine in a saucepan.
  2. Saute chopped onion until translucent.
  3. Add flour, salt, oregano, and marjoram to the saucepan.
  4. Stir in stewed tomatoes and simmer until thickened.
  5. Layer one can of drained French-cut green beans in a 1½-quart covered casserole dish.
  6. Pour half of the tomato mixture over the first layer of beans.
  7. Add the second can of drained green beans.
  8. Top with the remaining tomato mixture.
  9. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
  10. Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes, covered.
  11. Remove the lid and brown the top under the broiler before serving.
