Ingredients

  • 20 oz. frozen green beans
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1 onion
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup light cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 1 cup grated Swiss cheese
  • 1 can French fried onions
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Saute chopped onion in margarine until tender.
  2. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Gradually add cream and milk, stirring constantly.
  4. Add chicken bouillon cubes and cook until mixture thickens.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then add grated Swiss cheese and stir until melted.
  6. Add cooked green beans and mix well.
  7. Pour mixture into a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
  8. Sprinkle French fried onions over the top.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
