Ingredients

  • 15 hard-boiled eggs
  • Miracle Whip to taste
  • 3 tsp. horseradish (optional)
  • Sweet pickle juice to taste
  • Butter or oleo
  • 5 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 1/4 tsp. salt
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1/2 c. heavy cream
  • 4 Tbsp. Parmesan cheese
  • 4 Tbsp. Swiss cheese
  • Buttered bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Slice the eggs in half lengthwise and scoop out the yolks into a bowl.
  2. Mash the yolks well and add Miracle Whip, horseradish (optional), and sweet pickle juice or relish.
  3. Return the yolk mixture to the egg whites and place the filled eggs in a buttered 13 x 9-inch casserole dish.
  4. In a saucepan, melt 5 tablespoons of butter over low heat.
  5. Add the flour and stir to combine.
  6. Gradually stir in the milk, cooking until the mixture thickens.
  7. Stir in salt, pepper, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Swiss cheese, and 2½ tablespoons of butter until the cheeses melt and the sauce is smooth.
  8. Pour the cheese sauce over the deviled eggs in the casserole.
  9. Top with buttered bread crumbs.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 to 30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
