Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. tomato catsup
  • 3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. prepared mustard
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 4 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Sauté the chopped onion in 2 tablespoons of butter until browned.
  2. Combine the onion, tomato catsup, Worcestershire sauce, prepared mustard, water, lemon juice, chopped celery, vinegar, brown sugar, salt, and pepper in a saucepan.
  3. Simmer all ingredients, except wieners, over low heat for 30 minutes.
  4. Place the wieners in a casserole dish.
  5. Pour the cooked sauce over the wieners.
  6. Bake in a slow oven at 350°F for 45 minutes.
