Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening or margarine
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/3 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup mashed bananas
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
