Ingredients

  • 1 lb hamburger
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 1/2 bell pepper
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Brown hamburger in a skillet, then sauté chopped garlic, onion, and bell pepper until tender.
  2. Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes, then add chili powder and salt.
  3. Add one can of pinto beans, one can of tomatoes, and 3/4 cup of dry rice to the mixture.
  4. Pour everything into a casserole dish, cover, and bake for 1 hour at 350°F.
  5. In the last few minutes of baking, top with grated cheese and return to oven until melted.
