Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (12 to 16 oz.) package Smok-Y-Links, sliced
  • 1 pound can lima or butter beans, drained
  • 1 pound can kidney beans, drained

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) or prepare slow cooker.
  2. In a skillet, cook chopped onion and hamburger until browned. Add butter and cook for a few more minutes.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, ketchup, salt, vinegar, dry mustard, and pepper to make the sauce.
  4. Add cooked meat mixture, sliced Smok-Y-Links, drained lima or butter beans, and drained kidney beans into the bowl. Mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish or slow cooker.
  6. Bake in the oven for 1 1/2 hours or cook in the slow cooker on low for 8 hours, stirring occasionally if desired.
