Ingredients

  • 1 chicken back and neck
  • 1 beef chuck knuckle or 1 to 2 marrow bones
  • 2 large onions
  • 4 medium carrots
  • 4 celery stalks
  • 2 to 3 cabbage leaves or cabbage stem
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 large or 2 small bay leaves
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. paprika
  • 1 Lipton chicken soup broth

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients into a 4-quart pot and cover with water.
  2. Bring to a boil, then add paprika.
  3. Simmer for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, then add Lipton chicken soup broth.
  4. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
  5. If the soup is too strong, add some more water.
  6. Strain the soup and place the carrots back in.
