Ingredients

  • 2 c. elbow macaroni
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 3/4 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 (3 oz.) can French fried onions

Instructions

  1. Prepare the macaroni according to package instructions and drain.
  2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet, then drain excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, browned beef, cream of mushroom soup, tomatoes, shredded Cheddar cheese, chopped green pepper, and salt.
  4. Pour half of the mixture into a 2-quart casserole dish.
  5. Sprinkle half of the French fried onions on top of the mixture in the casserole.
  6. Pour the remaining mixture over the onions.
  7. Cover the casserole dish with a lid or aluminum foil.
  8. Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 45 to 60 minutes until heated through and bubbly.
