Beef Carbonade
Beef Carbonade is a hearty, flavorful Belgian-style beef stew with tender meat simmered in beer and onions, perfect for comforting family dinners or special gatherings.

Instructions
- Trim excess fat from the meat.
- Season the meat with a little salt and pepper.
- Place the meat in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
- Cover with sliced onions.
- Sprinkle lightly with salt.
- Reserve 1/3 cup of beer.
- Combine remaining beer with brown sugar, beef bouillon granules, black pepper, minced garlic, bay leaf, and dried thyme.
- Pour the beer mixture over the meat.
- Cover with foil and bake in a 350°F oven for 3 to 3 1/2 hours or until tender.
- Remove the meat to a platter and keep warm.
- Skim off excess fat from pan juices.
- Remove the bay leaf.
- In a saucepan, cook the pan juices down to 2 cups.
- Combine the reserved beer and flour; stir into the pan juices.
- Cook and stir until thick and bubbly, about 1 to 2 minutes.
