Beef in a blanket features seasoned ground beef wrapped in a tender biscuit dough, baked to golden perfection, and served with a creamy mushroom and pea sauce—comfort food at its best.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp minced onion
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 cups prepared biscuit mix
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • melted butter
  • 1 can mushroom soup

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef and minced onion in a skillet with a small amount of fat. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Break up the cooked beef with a fork.
  3. Combine prepared biscuit mix and milk in a bowl.
  4. Stir to blend until smooth.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness.
  6. Drain excess fat from the meat mixture.
  7. Spread the meat mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough.
  8. Roll up the dough with the filling in jelly roll fashion.
  9. Moisten the edges of the dough and seal securely.
  10. Brush the top of the rolled dough with melted butter.
  11. Bake at 450°F (232°C) for 10 minutes until golden.
  12. Mix mushroom soup with 1/3 can of milk and peas.
  13. Heat the soup mixture thoroughly.
  14. Pour the sauce over the sliced beef roll and serve.
