Beef Pepper Steak features tender strips of beef stir-fried with colorful peppers and onions in a savory soy-based sauce, perfect for a quick, flavorful meal for any beef lover.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 pound round steak, cut into thin strips
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 green peppers, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oil in a skillet, uncovered, at 325°F.
  2. Add meat and brown it.
  3. Remove the meat to a serving dish.
  4. Add onion and pepper slices to the skillet and cook until tender.
  5. Dissolve cornstarch in cold water and soy sauce.
  6. Add sugar, garlic salt, and pepper to the mixture.
  7. Pour the sauce into the skillet with vegetables, stirring until thickened and clear.
  8. Add the cooked meat back to the skillet and cook several minutes longer until heated through.
  9. Serve over hot rice.
