Ingredients

  • 2 pie crusts
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp oregano
  • 1 tsp parsley
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 5 lb potatoes, mashed
  • 1 small can corn

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line two pie plates with pie crusts.
  3. In a skillet, cook ground beef or turkey over medium heat until browned.
  4. Add diced onion, tomato sauce, oregano, parsley, and garlic powder to the meat, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Spread the cooked meat mixture evenly over the bottom of each pie crust.
  6. Slice large tomato and place slices over the meat layer.
  7. Spread mashed potatoes over the tomato slices, covering the filling completely.
  8. Drain and evenly distribute the small can of corn over the mashed potatoes.
  9. Cover the pies with the second pie crust or leave open as desired.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
