Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 12 oz. bag chocolate chips
  • 8 oz. grated semi-sweet or milk chocolate bar
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  3. Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Add the all-purpose flour, rolled oats, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; mix thoroughly.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips, grated chocolate bar, and chopped nuts until evenly distributed.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls no larger than ping pong ball size.
  7. Place the dough balls about 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheets.
  8. Bake for 6 to 7 minutes until golden brown around the edges.
