Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 cup miniature chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a 2-quart saucepan.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Add and fold in the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Stir in chopped nuts.
  5. Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  6. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  7. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 to 30 minutes, avoiding overbaking.
